Over his professional career, he spent a good amount of time volunteering with various organizations to include youth sports. His focus in entering public service again is to ensure open and ethical government that is responsive to all People of Nelson County.

Pete Trzop is the son of Barbara and Peter of Bardstown, Kentucky. Due to his father's career service in the United States Army, Pete and his sister, Allison, grew up in various parts of America along with living almost a decade in Germany. After graduating from high school, he pursued a degree at Centre College and the University of Louisville in Political Science. In 1999, Pete graduated with a Masters from the University of Louisville along with being a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force ROTC program. While going to college, he was able to coach soccer at Bardstown and Bethlehem High Schools, later to be a part of a nationally ranked team. Pete was awarded on multiple levels for being the coach of the year in high school soccer. In a true blessing just after becoming a military officer, he got the privilege of marrying the lovely Chasity Ann, the daughter of Melvin and Sissy Mattingly of Bardstown, Kentucky.

Commissioned a second lieutenant in the Air Force, the new couple headed to various duty stations throughout the US and Europe. During his service, he was selected to be a Federal Agent with the Office of Special Investigation. Later Pete was hand selected by the Air Force to be a professor at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach Florida. In 2005, Pete became a Disabled American Veteran, but started work as a Superintendent of a construction company and owner of a small renovation company. In order to return to his hometown of Bardstown, Pete took a job with Amazon.com in Campbellsville, and Chasi gained employment as a Director with Brown Mackie College. A few years later, Pete returned to education as a Dean and Executive Director of a college in Louisville. Currently, he is finishing up work on a doctorate degree focusing on leadership in organizations.

Along his professional career, Pete has stayed connected to various communities through his volunteer work with multiple organizations and youth sports programs. He has received multiple recognitions and awards for his service to Country, Community, Education, and Business community. Chasi and Pete are fortunate to be the parents of an energetic daughter, Reagan, and a baby boy named James Wilson.

Pete Trzop believes in service to Country and Community. Given his strong background of military service and being a federal agent, he believes that government should be open and ethic with the sole focus on serving the citizens of the community in a positive and supportive manner. Pete will focus on making a strong business environment, work hard for historical preservation, require government to be honest and accountable to all the People, and establish a Community Center for our youth, seniors and veterans. The Trzop family thanks you for your support in making our Nelson County a better place to work and live.
